The technical meeting between National Oil Corporation and Nafusah Oil Operations was held at Nafusah Oil Operations’ offices in Tripoli on 31/08/2016 in the presence of Chairman and Members of the Management
ithin NOC’s continuous following up of the progress of exploration and production operations in different oil production areas, Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, NOC Chairman of the Board, met with Mr. Mohamed Jamal Ed-deen Chairman of the Management Committee of Nafusa Oil Operations Company on Sunday 10/12/2017 in the presence of Messrs Abulgasem Shingheer and Elamari Mohamed Elamari Members of the Board of Directors at NOC.
The meeting discussed upgrading the project of Block No. (47) of Ghadames Basin assigned to the Company in addition to tackling technical and financial problems and some other obstacles related to the implementation process particularly in terms of the partnership agreement with the Second Party.
The Company also presented the latest developments and proposals of engineering works with respect to dividing the project into two phases whereas the first phase is proposed to start at the beginning of 2018 in which production is hoped to amount to 10 thousand barrels per day in the second quarter of the same year should the budget of the project is approved.
In this regard, Eng. Mustafa Sanalla stressed the need for paying attention to programs of spatial development of Ghadames Basin in conjunction with implementing of the Company’s works.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Jamal Ed-deen stated that the Company intended to hold a workshop with the Second Party in the near future. The aim of the workshop is to determine a decision on what should be done to reach early production rates at the beginning of next year 2019.
It is worth mentioning that Nafusa Oil Operations was established in 2013 as a joint venture partnership between National Oil Corporation, Medco Energi Internasional- the Indonesian Company, and Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) to develop oil explorations in Contract Area No. 47 in Ghadames Basin.

On behalf of NOC, the managers and specialists of the technical departments in addition to some specialists from the Libyan Petroleum Institute and Taknia Libya Engineering attend the meeting.
Nafusah Oil Operations presented its activities for the year 2016, the work program, and the proposed budget for 2017. The meeting also broached the reservoirs studies, the developmental drilling program and wells maintenance as well as discussing the current and future projects and the required budgets for implementing such projects for developing the field and putting it into production.
